10/8/2006 - Sunday - Quattro Qruise and Oktoberfest Celebration
Sunday, October 8, 2006
Everyone had such a great time last year, it was decided to make the Oktoberfest Quattro Qruise an annual event. Here are details of the 2nd Annual run and G2G.
The day begins in Paoli with a fun run through great areas and ends at Stoudt's Black Angus Brewery in Adamstown.
Date: Sunday, October 8,2006
Meeting Place: Paoli. Boston Market parking lot at the intersection of Routes 30 and 252
Time: 9:30 AM
End Place: Adamstown. Stoudt's Black Angus
Time: 1:00 PM
We'll depart at 10:00 AM for a scenic cruise through Chester and Berks Counties. The first half of the run will feature some of our old favorites—Routes 842, 841 and 82. The 2006 Oktoberfest route can be fun to play on or it can be enjoyed as a scenic cruise. Therefore, we plan to have two groups—a sport group for those who want to play and a touring group for those who want to relax and enjoy the scenery.
After a brief pit stop, the second leg of our fun run will take us into new territory in lower Berks arriving at the Germutlichkeit Bier Garden at Stoudt's Black Angus in Adamstown at 1:00 PM. Live German music by Kappela Fellas, starts at 2:00 and the traditional Oktoberfest event continues until 6:00.
General admission is $8.00 per person and admission with 3 beverages is $15.00 payable directly to Stoudt's.
To learn more about Stoudt's Black Angus, the brewery and the Oktoberfest extravaganza, go to www.stoudts.com.
For those who want to continue the celebration or just would rather not drive home after the festivities, the Black Horse Lodge and Suites on Route 272 at PA Turnpike exit 286 (1 mile from Stoudts) is offering special Oktoberfest rates to ACNA-MAC members and guests. Room rates are $59.00/single and $69.00/ double but availability is limited so book soon.
For Black Horse reservations, call 1-800-610-3805 and mention the Audi Club Oktoberfest run. Because the Black Horse is such a popular place, we suggest you book early. Remember, to get the discounted rate, you must mention the Audi Club Oktoberfest run when booking.
Last year, a number of us elected to take advantage of the special rates and continued the party at the Black Horse Restaurant and Tavern. This regionally acclaimed spot was the perfect ending to a perfect day. For more information on The Black Horse, go to www.blackhorselodge.com.
To register for the run, please send an Email to cholland@acna-mac.com. Indicate your choice of group (sport or touring), year and model of your Audi and number of people in your car. Also, let us know if you plan to join us for dinner at the Black Horse and if you are staying over.
Remember... Oktoberfest is a time of celebration and camaraderie with your friends. What better way to celebrate it than with fellow Audi enthusiasts!

10/22/05 Saturday Dyno/Day at Philly Dyno Works
ACNA/MAC Members:
Are you interested in knowing your Audi's 'true' performance?
Have you ever seen how "dyno's" are done?
Would you like to join in on an ACNA/MAC Tech/Session?
Well, now's your chance!
The MAC/ACNA organizers have made arrangements with Philly Dyno Works to host the fall ACNA/MAC Dyno/Day on Saturday October 22nd.
For those that joined us at last year's ACNA/MAC dyno/day, you know that this is a great way to learn a lot about your Audi! If you've ever wondered what your car will put down to the wheels in terms of horsepower and torque, or just want to see what a dyno is all about, then this event is for you. If you've missed the previous dyno day, or wish to re-dyno your car, then join in!
Philly Dyno Works has welcomed us to join them on a Saturday this fall. They are one of the few shops in the area that can handle AWD vehicles. They use a modern state of the art in-ground dynamometer built by DynoJet. DynoJet is the world's most well known and respected dynamometer company. This dyno can support FWD, RWD, and AWD with a sophisticated control that moves the rollers automatically to adjust for the drivetrain configuration and chassis length.
The MAC/ACNA Dyno Day event is planned for Saturday, October 22nd from 9am to 2pm. Each participant will receive 3 pulls on the dyno including use of the wide-band A/F sensor. You do not need to be a member of the ACNA/MAC in order to participate - so join in AND bring a friend!
We need a firm headcount and a minimum number of committed participants in order to satisfy 'booking' of Philly Dyno Works equipment - so RSVP's are required. Early registrants get to pick their 'slot' order for the runs. The cost is $60 for 3 AWD pulls/$50 for 3 2WD pulls - a significant discount off the regular price. (note: the $60/$50 price is based on 15 registrants. Final price may vary slightly depending on the final number of participants.) Paypal and/or personal check payable to Philip Christian is acceptable.
RSVP and send in your payment to me at christianii@aol.com as soon as possible.
Your payment must be received no later than Saturday, October 8th in order to satisfy Philly Dyno Works. If you have any questions and/or to register, email me at christianii@aol.com.
For more info and directions, visit Philly Dyno Works at www.phillydynoworks.com.

- Would you be interested in attending an Audi/3M Detailing Clinic?
- Would you like to see first-hand the way top detailers approach their work?
- Would you like an opportunity to see the latest detailing products from 3M - one of Audi's certified suppliers?
Recently, Holbert's Audi in Doylestown PA put on a Detailing Clinic for the Porsche Club and it was quite popular. They've offered the ACNA/MAC an opportunity to have a Detailing Clinic too - on Tuesday August 9th from 6:30PM EDT to 9:00PM. These clinics are extremely popular as not only is it a great way for members to get together but folks learn a lot! The ACNA/MAC Detailing Clinic will be hosted by Holbert's Detail Manager - Randy Brown as well as by 3M Automotive Detailing Products.
Holbert's Audi will not only show us how to approach exterior detailing but also allow a number of us to work on our Audi's indoors/outdoors detailing our cars out of the sun/rain/etc. While doing so, each can consult with the Holbert's/3M folks to ensure we are approaching our detailing with the recommended method or product. Regardless of your passion for a particular detailing product or regimen, now's a good opportunity to learn from the experts! In fact, bring your favourite product and compare it!
Here are the logistics:
- Location: Holbert's Audi Rt 611/Easton Rd Doylestown PA (appox 6 miles north of the PA Turnpike)
- Time: 6:30PM EDT
- Cost: $10 (This is strictly voluntary - Randy Brown of Holbert's is taking his evening to support this event. All proceeds would go to Randy as a small token of our appreciation)
- Afterwards: Dinner/Drinks at Houlihan's - Directly across the street from Holbert's
Email me at danjackson@audiclubna.org if you are interested in attending as we're trying to get a good count for logistics purposes. 10/2/05 Sunday ACNA/MAC Oktoberfest Qruise & G2G
Sunday 10/2/05 ACNA/MAC 2005 Oktoberfest Qruise
What a natural tie-in... German car (Audi); German celebration (Oktoberfest); German bier garden (the Gemutlichkeit at Stoudt's Black Angus in Adamstown, PA).
And the natural group to take those German cars to that German bier garden in October is the ACNA/MAC!
There are three ways for you to join the fun of our 2005 Oktoberfest Qruise celebration.
1. AM Oktoberfest Qruise: Meet us in Paoli in the Boston Market parking lot at the intersection of Routes 252 and 30 at 9:30am. We depart at 10:00am for a scenic qruise through Chester and Lancaster Counties. After a pit stop at Wawa's just north of Strasburg at 11:30am, we continue the qruise and arrive at the Germutlichkeit Bier Garden at Stoudt's Black Angus in Adamstown at 1:00pm where we join in on the Oktoberfest festivities! Live German music begins at 2:00pm and the celebration continues until 6:00pm. Admission is $8 per person. Beer, food, etc. is extra.
2. PM Oktoberfest Qruise: If you can't make the morning portion of the qruise, join us at 11:30am at our pit stop at the WAWA at the intersection of Routes 30 and 896 (just north of Strasburg) at 11:30 AM. The second leg of our cruise departs Wawa at 12:00 and lasts just about an hour as we travel through Bird-in-Hand, Intercourse and New Holland on the way to the Oktoberfest in Adamstown.
3. Oktoberfest: If you would like to join us for only the Oktoberfest portion, take the PA Turnpike to Exit 286 (old Exit 21), then proceed east for about 1 mile on Route 272 to Stoudt's Black Angus in Adamstown. Meet us there at 1:00pm.
But there's more!
For those who want to continue the celebration or just would rather not drive home after the festivities, The Black Horse Lodge and Suites on Route 272 at PA Turnpike Exit 286 is offering special Oktoberfest rates to ACNA/MAC members and guests. Room rates are $79.00 to $119.00 depending on the room type. Mention the Audi Club Oktoberfest Cruise when you reserve your room, or upon check-in, and you will receive an additional 20% discount! For Black Horse reservations, call 800-610-3805. We suggest that you book as far in advance as you can because The Black Horse is a popular local spot. Remember, to get the discounted rate, you must mention the Audi Club event upon booking or at check-in.
Also at The Black Horse you will find the regionally acclaimed Black Horse Restaurant and the Black Horse Tavern. The Tavern has over 500 spirits on the back bar, over 100 different draft and bottled beers and 20 wines by the glass. (Your ACNA/MAC Oktoberfest organizers have tried the Tavern and highly recommend it!)

5/15/05 Sunday Ferrari G2G in Reading PA
Sunday 5/15/05 - ACNA/MAC Ferrari G2g
Are you interested in more than Audi's?
How 'bout a hundred Ferrari's?
Would you like to meet some of your fellow members?
Well, now's your chance!
On Sunday May 15th, all ACNA/MAC members are invited to attend a G2G at the 21st Annual Reading Ferrari Concours d'Elegance on the grounds of the Reading Country Club where well over 100 vintage and new (mostly red) Ferraris will be on display. There is no admission charge for those not entering a Ferrari in the event. In the morning, free coffee and doughnuts, etc., are served to all attendees; and hamburgers and sodas can be bought for lunch.
Folks are planning on getting there early to see the parade of Ferraris arriving and forming up by model on the green fairway. Though the event lasts all day, one can easily see all there is to see by the early afternoon.
ACNA/MAC's Bob Brown is organizing this event and you're welcome to join him at either of two meet points:
- Chili's King of Prussia at 8:30am or
- McDonald's at Shelbourne Square Shopping Center on 422 at 9:15am
Directions: From Chili's in King of Prussia, go south on Route 202, and then west on Route 422 for about 35 miles. After the Route 422 4-lane highway ends, watch for and pass a Dairy Queen on the left; then, proceed to the next traffic light (Shelbourne Square and McDonald's on the left). After this light, the Reading Country Club is the first (not well marked) driveway on the right.
Parking on the lawn for non-Ferraris will be evident, usually on the left a short way down the driveway.
If you're planning on joining in or have any questions, send Bob an email at robert.a.brown@mindspring.com.

6/5/05 Sunday ACNA/MAC Performance G2G at SuperJam 2005
Did you ever ask yourself... "...what is the true performance of my Audi?"
Would you like to find out?
Take some 1/4 mile runs with us at SuperJam 2005 and find out!
SuperJam 2005 is a great G2G at the Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton PA on Sunday June 5th, 2005. The organizers claim that its a HUGE VW show with events, food and more - and we have no reason to doubt them! The pictures of past events reflect a great time.
So even though we're not "technically" VW's, we're sociable folk and we've been invited to participate in the 1/4 mile run(s) portion of the day! (and the other stuff too!) So if you'd like to see how your Audi compares to the published times, now's your chance! Join us!
If you're interested in joining in, contact Drew Nurenberg at nurenber@netzero.net.
4/30/05 Saturday ACNA/MAC sponsor of Mt Gretna Road Rally
This rally is not only for fun but proceeds are being donated to the Bridge of Hope charity. While the ACNA/MAC is not the organizer, we are a sponsor and we're encouraging our members to come out for a good time and for a good cause.
The rally will showcase the beautiful scenery along some of our less-traveled Lebanon County roads. The rally will test your sense of direction and ability to answer questions along the route. The event is not timed; this is not a performance run.
- Trophies will be awarded for the top finishers within the three open categories and each club class. - Ten entries are required to create an individual club class.
- Rally registration fee is $50 per car.
- Each team is comprised of two adults with children welcome to ride along (a separate family class will be offered).
- Registration fee includes two adult lunches provided by Hess’s BBQ (children’s lunch tickets can be purchased separately in advance)
- Registration closes 4/16/05.
Any questions and to register, contact Vickie Owens at bvowens@comcast.net.

8/1/05 & 8/2/05 - ACNA/MAC Driver School w Miata Club at Pocono
We have been invited by the Miata Club to join in their 9th annual event at Pocono Raceway, on Aug 1st and 2nd. Below is information about the event. As a lot of you know, I'm slightly enthusiastic about track events, so I encourage you ALL to consider attending, and driving.
Contact me to volunteer, drive, or both. steve@stephengoldberg.com
FROM: Jeff Jury Motorsports Director Del-Val Miata Club
My Fellow Track Enthusiasts: I am the Motorsports Director of the Delaware Valley Miata Club. The Del-Val Miata Club is again offering an invitation to you and your club members to join us as we hold our annual Driving School at Pocono International Raceway on Monday and Tuesday, August 1st and 2nd 2005. We will be running the North Course of the track and offer classroom and in-car instruction on Monday. We reserve the Tuesday session for open seat time, but if you let us know ahead of time, we may be able to provide some in-car instruction on Tuesday on a first-come, first-served basis. We limit the number of participants on both dates to provide plenty of open track space and a safe environment. This is no roll bar requirement at our event and we welcome all convertibles to participate. This is a good opportunity for your members with convertibles who do not wish to invest in a rollbar to participate in a track event. We run this school with safety as our primary concern and this year will mark the 9th year of our event.
Some of you may have attended our event as participants or instructors and can speak directly to the excellent reputation that our event has developed. The cost of our event is $200 per day per driver. Information on lodging will be forwarded to those who are interested. Again, we prefer those with little or no track experience to participate on Monday but will try and accommodate those who can only attend Tuesday.
Please be kind enough to pass this information along to your club members through your newsletter or website and mention it at your upcoming meetings.Anyone interested in receiving additional information or reserving a slot for one or both days should contact Jeff Jury at (610) 742-9777 or e-mail racemiata@yahoo.com. If you e-mail, please include your contact information, phone and address and indicate if you are interested in the 1st or 2nd or both dates. Payment information will be included in my reply. We will also be looking for instructors for the Monday, August 1st session. Instructors will receive free seat time on Monday. If you have instructed in the past at our event or have significant track experience and want to instruct this year, please contact me as well. (Participation on Tuesday will still require the $200 entry fee.)
This event usually sells out, so don’t wait to long to get the info to your club members and reserve your slots.
Regards, Jeff JuryMotorsports Director Del-Val Miata Club

Every ACNA/MAC member is invited to attend!
The ACNA/MAC is a non-profit automotive enthusiast club intended to enhance its members' Audi ownership experience in four areas: Technology / Performance / Community / Lifestyle.
The ACNA/MAC is organized entirely by volunteers. From time-to-time, organizers get together to make decisions on Chapter organizational matters such as budgets, schedule, etc. In 2005, the ACNA/MAC will hold four formal Business/Meetings - Feb 15th, May 17th, Aug 16th and Nov 15th.
The venue for the Feb 15th ACNA/MAC Business/Meeting is at the Rock Bottom Pub in the King of Prussia Mall between Sears and Nordstroms (610-230-2739). The meeting will begin at 7:pm sharp.
At the Feb 15th Business/Meeting, the planned topics include:
1) Chapter officer elections in 2Q05
2) Budgets
3) Audi Virtual Museum at Carlisle PA in May 2005
4) Overall event schedule especially sponsoring Driver Safety Schools
5) Conversion to the ACNA/MAC e-list
Please note that the volunteers organizing the ACNA/MAC provide a tremendous benefit to all ACNA/MAC members. Volunteering is fun, easy and rewarding. There's lots of ways to participate from running events to taking pictures and writing articles. If you would like to 'join in' and help out, let us know!
Thanks!

7/29/05 to 7/31/05 - Int'l Auto Union meet - Langesund Norway
Norsk DKW Union, the Norwegian Auto Union club, is hereby inviting you all to our event, the 32nd International Auto Union meeting. Langesund 29th - 31st of July 2005. More information available at http://www.ndu.no/treffen05/info_en.html
This meeting will take place in Langesund with Skjærgårdshallen, the skerries hall, and Quality Skjærgården hotel and swimming resort as base.
Langesund is situated on the western side of the Oslo fiord in the municipality of Bamble. Langesund is a nice little town with wooden houses in beautiful surroundings and has a long history of shipping and shipyards. This is really a very nice place to gather all our precious vehicles. The Grenland area, which is part of Telemark county, consist of the municipality of Siljan, Skien, Porsgrunn and Bamble. This area has a lot of sights and interesting places to offer. In Skien, you can among other things, visit the childhood home of the famous Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen. The county museum, with a lot of interesting collections, is situated in a beautiful garden with a lot of ancient Norwegian buildings. From Skien, the canal boats leave both inwards for Dalen in the middle of Telemark, which is a distance of about 100 km with 18 locks, and outwards down the river and past Porsgrunn to Brevik and Langesund. Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik AS, the old porcelain plant in Porsgrunn, does guided tours and have a factory outlet with favourable prices. Porsgrunn is also renowned for all the cultural facilities with its international theatre festival and other arrangements. The beautiful town of Brevik is almost like a living museum. The outdoor recreational areas of Siljan and the skerries around Langesund offer a lot of possibilities for activities and open-air life. The area of Grenland is, in short words, a splendid area for spending your holiday in Norway.
It is only two hours of driving to Langesund from Oslo, the capital of Norway and the most common port for travellers from the continent, but most important, there are daily direct ferry links to Langesund from Hirtshals in Denmark. There are also ferries from the continent arriving at Sandefjord (40 min drive), Larvik (30 min drive) and Kristiansand (2 hrs drive). For those not coming with their own vehicle, there is also an international airport in Sandefjord (Torp).
As an optional extension to the traditional Auto Union meeting and an extra service to all Auto Union friends coming to Norway, Norsk DKW Union will organize a 4-day trip, a caravan, starting after the meeting on Sunday. The caravan will take you through some of the most scenic part of the mountains and fiords areas in Norway, and end up in Molde at the northwest coast. See more details of the route in the program <../treffen05/caravan.html> .

12/11/04 - MAC/ACNA Tech Session sponsored by Autohaus Lancaster
Are you interested in the 'inner workings' of your Audi?
Have you considered converting to synthetic oil?
Would you like to get a frank appraisal of your Audi's condition in time for this winter?
Autohaus Lancaster is sponsoring a unique MAC/ACNA Tech Session on Saturday December 11, 2004. What makes this Tech Session special is their offer to let you work with their highly trained techs and service manager on YOUR Audi!
Autohaus Lancaster is offering the entire day (8am until 2pm), Saturday, Dec. 11th, to MAC/ACNA members servicing their cars for oil/filter changes (at a $5 discount), meeting with an Audi Tech/Service Advisor and reviewing your Audi's needs while on their service lift (allowing you a view of your Audi that you may not have had before), and learning what services you can perform yourself to maintain your Audi. Basically, MAC/ACNA members will have a one-on-one review of their car with an Audi Tech while their car is being serviced! A great opportunity to learn more about your Audi!
Special Note: We've just added another element to this event. From 10:00am - 11:00am we are planning on a CPG Organizing Meet at Autohaus Lancaster. Our intent is getting folks interested in organizing more events in the Central PA area together to discuss ideas, etc. Please email Chris or Dan if you'll be joining this part.
Appointments should be made directly with Autohaus Lancaster's Audi Service Advisor, Jobin Grandstrom (717-239-3965), and each MAC/ACNA member should identify themselves as a "Audi Club Member" at the time the appointment is made.
While Autohaus' prefers appointments, they will make every attempt to service those without appointments on a first-come-first-served basis when it does not conflict with a customer who has an appointment.
So now's your opportunity to learn more about your Audi while working with one of the MAC/ACNA's most proactive sponsors. Time is short! So make your appointment now!
